How does the rental deposit work?
When you book the studio we require a non-refundable 50% (of the full rental fee) deposit to hold your date. You can pay the remainder when you arrive for your shoot.
How can I pay?
We accept Paypal, credit cards and cash.
Do you offer discounts for multi-day shoots?
We are happy to offer discounted pricing for multi-day shoots, and offer packages for photographers or videographers looking to shoot in our studios on a regular basis. Please call or email us for additional information.
What lighting equipment do you provide?
For still shoots, we provide Profoto strobes along with Pocket Wizards and a variety of grip, accessories, and lighting modifiers and stands at no extra charge. For video shoots, we provide Lowel tungsten-halogen lights and a variety of grip, accessories, and lighting modifiers and stands at no extra charge. Both are included in the rental fee. What about backgrounds?
We keep super-white, grey and black seamless background in stock, which we offer for $25 per pull. If there is another color you want, let us know, we might have it in stock, or we can order it for you in advance of your shoot.
Do you have other camera equipment for rental?
Yes. We have a variety of still and video options available, and also partner with CSI rentals so we can have any gear under the sun waiting for you at the studio in advance of your shoot. Click here for more details.

Do you rent for other/special events?
Yes. In the past we have rented for small art events, workshops, gallery shows, launch parties, wedding receptions, bridal showers…. to name just a few. Email us with your event idea and let’s talk!
Can you be my photographer/videographer?
Yes. We are professional advertising, editorial, beauty, fashion and event photographers as well as documentary photographer/videographers. Please contact us for rates.
How do I get to Starr Street Studios?
We are located Brooklyn’s most up and coming neighborhood, Bushwick. We are a half block from the Jefferson St. stop on the L train, a 15min train ride from Union Square. We are also easily accessible from the Williamsburg Bridge if you are coming from Manhattan, or an easy ride from the BQE or LIE. For directions from Google Maps, click here.
Do you have pressing equipment and clothing racks?
Yes. We have a steamer and rolling clothing rack included in the rental if needed.
Do you have wi-fi?
Do the studios have kitchens?
Studio A is equipped with a kitchenette. For larger events or food photography/cooking shows we can offer our fully furnished Studio B. It is equipped with a full kitchen and an impressive 12 foot granite island/bar great for TV shows looking for a fully dressed set. Call or email us for details.
Can I move the furnishings in the studio?
You can move anything you like, just please put it back before the end of your shoot.
Is there natural light in the studio?
Yes. Studio A has plenty of natural light with large south-facing windows. The windows can also be blacked out upon request. We also have a large open rooftop with view of Manhattan, which you can use for an extra charge.
Do the windows black out?
Is there an elevator?
Yes. There is a freight elevator available upon request Monday-Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm. Otherwise it is a quick two flights up.
Where can I get food or coffee?
Tea and coffee can be made in any of our studios, and our neighborhood is filled with tons of great cafes, delis and restaurants that deliver. There is a even a cafe in the building! We have menus on site for all of them.
Can I bring pets?
Studio A can accommodate pets at special request.
Is the studio smoke-free?
Do you have a stereo?
Yes! The studio rental comes with a Bluetooth-equipped music player, so bring your iPod or iPhone or any device.
