Christian Clouden showcases the natural beauty of the black community / African Diaspora

If you haven’t heard of Christian Clouden, you’ve definitely seen his work as you entered the site, as it’s currently on our home page. Christian came by the studio to shoot a beautiful series to showcase the natural beauty of the black community / African diaspora through hair! While he’s currently a photographer, his career was started in fashion. Since he didn’t have enough money for media support, he began to develop his own skills. His work beautifully captures the true essence of the people and the message is clearly understood through his breathtaking visuals. We can’t wait to see more of his future work!

How did you make your start in your career?

I made my start in my career first by creating a clothing line, then I realized I don’t have extra money to pay for media support but I own a camera and a laptop, so I began developing my media skills!

Tell us a little about yourself and your work. What's your background? What's your artistic vision and what drives you creatively

My name is Christian, I'm an entrepreneur/creative from Brooklyn, New York. I'm the founder/Ceo of Cosmos Apex Apparel and the co-founder of a new company called BeMyCurlFriend. When I'm not working on any of my businesses, I'm doing freelance photography, videography, and graphic design. My artistic vision is framed by my emotions and trying to bring those emotions out of my audience. I'm driven by the never-ending ideas in my head, anime, and my curiosity.

What was the focus of your Starr Street shoot? And how did Starr Street help facilitate it? How did it come out?

The focus of my Starr Street shoot was with my company BeMyCurlFriend, we did a photoshoot showcasing the natural beauty of the black community/African diaspora through our hair! The shoot went amazing and the employees at Starr Street Studios were available and extremely helpful.

What's next for you and your work (at Starr Street and otherwise)?

I have a few projects I'm fleshing out such a Met gala themed photoshoot, a few angelic streetwear photoshoots and more! I can't wait to get back in Starr Street Studios.
